Dans sa quête insatiable de ressources naturelles, l'Empire a instauré une ère de dévastation sans précédent. Les derniers espoirs pour l'arrêter reposent sur Max Brawley, un pilote de mécha Gatling Gear qui se prépare à sortir de sa retraite. Avec sa nièce et son fidèle Gatling Gear, il va devoir tailler sa route jusqu'au cœur de l'Empire et éliminer la destruction à sa source.
